Volunteer Coordination Team

Objectives:

  • Oversees the successful operation of the FMHM volunteer program which encompasses all FMHM volunteer needs to fulfill the organization’s vision, mission, and visitor experience

  • Ensures robust, qualified, and diverse volunteers are readily available to serve and support the programs, events, and operations of the FMHM

  • Provides oversight and facilitation of the FMHM Volunteer Appreciation program to ensure consistent and timely recognition of the FMHM volunteers

  • Conducts all interfaces with FMHM visitors, staff, volunteers, partners, and associates with honesty, integrity, and respect

Team Participants and Eligibility:

  • Team Lead is appointed by Board Chair

  • Team participants must be FMHM members

  • Team advisory or subject matters experts may be utilized from time to time for information or guidance however these individuals are not considered team members

  • Team members are solicited and recommended to serve by the Team Lead with final approval by the FMHM Board Chair

  • Team members serve at the discretion of the FMHM Board with no established term limitations and are approved for participation annually by the FMHM Board

Volunteer Coordination Team Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the FMHM Volunteer Program which includes:

    • Recruitment, solicitation, and training for all volunteer positions

    • Creates and maintains communication strategies during all facets of the volunteers’ service time which includes email, phone, and in-person meetings

    • Development of tactical partnerships with community organizations for viable volunteer pipelines

    • Collection and oversight with FMHM Board of Directors, teams, and special events to quantify volunteer position needs and qualifications to develop volunteer staffing plans

  • Development and implementation of the FMHM Volunteer Appreciation Program

  • Safeguard viable and current volunteer information and ensure data (contact information, areas of interest, service hours, etc.) is collected in a timely and consistent manner

  • Develop volunteer coordination goals and measures to determine the team’s effectiveness

  • Provide team updates and statistics on a regular basis to the FMHM Board of Directors

  • Record team meeting minutes and provide to the FMHM Secretary

TEAM MEETING / Communication SchedulE:

  • Monthly communications are distributed to active volunteers and posted to FMHM website to maintain volunteer engagement

  • Annual meeting of the volunteers for appreciation, recognition, and process improvement dialogue

  • Meetings can be called as needed for emerging issues
