KEY FOCUS AREAS
The Fort Mill History Museum is organized into six Key Focus areas which define every aspect of the museum. Under each area there are teams that lead each one so that the museum achieves its goals and maintains value for the Fort Mill community and surrounding areas.
MUSEUM ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
The Fort Mill History Museum organization is designed to deliver the museum’s vision, mission, and objectives in the most effective and efficient manner. At the pinnacle of the organization are three groups which embody the museum’s purpose: visitors and guests; members; and community. Volunteers are the next level, and an important element to the museum’s success. At the core of the organization is the Executive Director who ensures continued daily operations and overall direction. The next level consists of teams and coordinators within each of the museum’s Key Focus Areas which deliver special tasks and duties. The organization’s foundational element is the Board of Directors which provides long-term sustainability and governance.

Fort Mill History Museum is led by an active Board of Directors made up of volunteers with varied backgrounds in business, civic organizations, and the arts. Some are lifelong Fort Mill residents and others are new to the area, but all share a dedication to preserving the history of the town for generations to come.
