George Fish School

The George Fish School was constructed in 1925 using Dr. Booker T. Washington’s central consolidated design. It was partly funded by the Julius Rosenwald Fund, and named for George Fish, Superintendent of Springs Cotton Mill Plants No. 1 and No. 2, who advocated for the brick structure design.

There were five George Fish School yearbooks produced, and they have been digitized by Winthrop University. The project was co-sponsored by the Fort Mill History Museum and the George Fish School Foundation, LLC. The original copies were furnished by Samuel Watson for the digitization project.
