FINANCE TEAM

Objectives:

  • Oversees the accounting, budgeting, and all other financial related systems for FMHM

  • Ensures the financial reporting process is timely, valid, and in accordance with all nonprofit reporting standards

  • Conducts all interfaces regarding FMHM matters with honesty and integrity

Team Participants and Eligibility:

  • Team Lead is appointed by FMHM Board Chair

  • Team participants must be FMHM members

  • Treasurer serves as a voting member of the team

  • Team advisory or subject matters experts may be utilized from time to time for information or guidance however these individuals are not considered team members

  • Team members are solicited and recommended to serve by the team Lead with final approval by the FMHM Board of Directors

  • Team members serve at the discretion of the FMHM Board with no established term limitations and are approved for participation annually by the FMHM Board

Finance Team Responsibilities:

  • Advise the FMHM Board on appropriate budgeting and accounting practices as a nonprofit corporation

  • Propose an annual budget, monitor income and expenditures, and recommend an auditor to conduct the annual audit as specified in the By-laws

  • Communicate FMHM financial related information to members on a regular and timely basis

  • Assist the FMHM Executive Director with financial related reporting or processing as needed

  • Ensure financial data is being collected in a consistent and timely manner along with being properly documented in museum filing systems

  • Update the annual organization financial plan for reporting at the annual FMHM meeting

  • Provide financial reports to the FMHM Board of Directors on a regular basis to keep the organization abreast of financial related activity

  • Record Team meeting minutes and provide to the FMHM Secretary

Team Meeting / Communication Schedule

  • Meetings can be called as needed for emerging issues

  • All documents, paperwork created and maintained by the team is to be submitted in a timely manner to the FMHM Executive Director for storage at the FMHM. All documents are the property and ownership of the FMHM
